Frequently asked questions.

how does coaching work?

We start by having a conversation about where you are now and where you want to be. The great thing about coaching is that it’s flexibility; it truly depends on you and what you’d like to get out of the coaching relationship. We can explore various areas of your life - relationships, career/finances, emotional and physical wellbeing, life purpose and spirituality. We can also work together if you’re feeling lost and don’t know what you want or how to proceed – coaching is great for this too. We can work together on several areas of your life but the key to effective coaching is, committing to one area at a time where you want to see a breakthrough.  We’ll naturally touch upon different areas of your life during the coaching relationship but having a starting point is helpful.

how many sessions will i need?

You should see results from coaching after a couple of sessions. If you have one specific goal or area you’d like to work on, you can see really great results from 3 sessions. If you want to explore a goal in-depth or have more than one area you’d like to work on, usually anywhere between 6-12 sessions will be sufficient.

Some clients like to see a coach on a longer term basis if they have long-term goals or want the on-going accountability for maintenance (just like having a Personal Trainer at the gym). Longer term coaching can certainly be accommodated but the frequency tends to drop to fortnightly or monthly sessions.

what can i expect from working with you as a coach?

When you work with me, I'll hold a safe and supportive space for you, free of judgment. Your well-being will always come first as I challenge you to uncover what's holding you back from the results you want in your personal and professional life. I'll ask you lots of thought-provoking questions and actively listen, helping you get to the heart of what you really want.

How will I know you’re the right coach for me?

Booking a complimentary 30-minute introductory session is the perfect way to see if we click. You're welcome to ask me any questions you have and if you feel I'm not the right fit for you by the end of our chat, that’s totally ok! It's important for you to feel a genuine connection with your coach for our work together to be effective. My goal is to support people in getting to where they want to be, so if I'm not the one for you, I'll do my best to connect you with someone who is.

What’s the difference between Coaching, COUNSELLING AND MENTORING?

Coaching is collaborative and forward-looking and centres on setting and achieving goals through strategic planning and personalised guidance. Coaching takes you from ‘ok’ to ‘great’ and gives you the space and support to find your own answers. Coaching tends to be short term and is for people who are ready and able to make changes in their life.  Coaching is collaborative but the client brings the agenda and sets the pace.

Counselling is predominantly backwards looking and takes you from ‘not ok’ to ‘ok’. Counselling is usually longer term and focuses on emotional healing and addressing past issues.

Mentoring involves someone sharing their insights from their own personal experiences to guide and advise you. Mentoring is great if you want advice and to learn from someone who has relevant experience that you could benefit from.
